Technology Drivers Disrupting the MSP Market | @CloudExpo #Cloud #ITaaS #Azure

Paul Guerin is a serial entrepreneur who has over 25 years of high-tech experience and channel sales and development. What are the technology drivers creating the disruption the MSP market? Nerdio Paul F. Guerin, VP of Sales and Business Development: The ubiquitous availability of business grade internet, enterprise class colo facilities, and advancements in virtualization technology coupled with cloud IaaS from Amazon (AWS) and Microsoft (Azure) are changing the way way MSPs deliver services to the customers in a disruptive way. Where are managed services going? Guerin: Historically MSPs derived their revenue from selling hardware and software and providing the professional service needed to implement business solutions for their customers. Today, while the MSP market is flourishing, revenue from those traditional sources is shrinking and all of the growth is being... (more)

Mind the Gap - Enterprise Mobility and Digital Transformation

The phrase "Mind the Gap" was first introduced in 1969 in London as a warning for passengers to watch for the gap between the train door and the station platform.  The need to warn passengers is and was the result of some stations being located on curves and at varying heights relative to the tracks.  The warning is intended to prevent injuries. Mind the gap is also a relevant warning for organizations today.  The gap I am referring to is the one between your customers' expectations and your ability to meet those expectations given your current IT infrastructure and legacy systems. Today consumers have amazing power and real-time capabilities in their mobile devices.  They have incredible user experiences and powerful apps connected to real-time analytics, transactional services, turn-by-turn navigation, mobile payments and mobile commerce capabilities.  They have ins... ERP and the Art of Action

In his book The Art of Action (2011), Stephen Bungay identifies three gaps that frustrate the ability of organizations to translate plans into actions that lead to desired outcomes. He calls them the knowledge, alignment and effects gaps. Here, I wish to reflect on Bungay’s perspective by reviewing these gaps in terms of the selection and implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. ERP software exerts a significant influence over the way an organization manages and monitors its performance. In large organizations, ERP software can touch hundreds, even thousands of people given that today’s ERP software may have a significant organizational footprint encompassing accounting, supply-chain, manufacturing, human resources (HR), customer relationship management (CRM), environmental, social and governance (ESG) and performance management activities. ER... (more)

Put the Power in PowerPoint by Creating Meaningful Connections | @CloudExpo #Cloud

Put the Power in PowerPoint by Creating Meaningful Connections with Audiences Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Please tell us, what is Zeetings all about and what do you do? Rob Kawalsky: Zeetings is a cloud-based presentation and content interaction platform that transforms an audience from passive viewers into active participants. We believe presentations are more than a set of slides-they are about building a connection between presenters and their audiences. We also believe that great outcomes are achieved not just by talking but by listening. Zeetings creates this genuine connection between presenters and audiences, changing the paradigm from a one-way monologue to a two-way conversation. Unlike a traditional presentation, a "zeeting" is a social and interactive experience accessible via any connected device, coupled with data-driven analytics... (more)

Assistance On the Go By @Xeniar | @CloudExpo #Cloud

If you've ever been on the receiving end of the IT help line during a critical project, you know the feeling of being at the mercy of the established processes of calling or emailing, creating a "trouble ticket" and awaiting a response. Working remotely or on a mobile device proves even more challenging to a prompt solution.  In contrast, Workspot's integrated in-app support incorporates helpdesk support directly inside the Workspot application. This enables all users, whether in the office or on the go, to get help from IT without sending an email, placing a call, or even without leaving the Workspot application. It's a the same as the "live-chat" option you've probably seen when shopping online.  You click the "help desk" icon which opens a dialog box, enabling immediate communication and much faster resolution to problems in real time. What is a common tool in sh... (more)

GSX Solutions to Define the Next Generation of Performance Monitoring | @CloudExpo #Cloud

What does it mean for GSX Solutions to reach the 20 year milestone? Antoine Leboyer, CEO of GSX Solutions: It is certainly a key milestone in anyone's life. I can fully appreciate this when I think back to my younger days and then I look at my eldest daughter, who is 20 years old and in her second year at university. But for a company in the IT sector, a 20-year anniversary signifies that we have experienced and endured so many radical changes in the industry. We have witnessed the era in which mainframes were challenged by minis, which were then themselves challenged by PCs. Then came the age of software, then something called the Internet, and now another something called the cloud. Every time, we thought that nothing more could be invented, another massive change would take place. If we are still here and thriving after 20 years, it is a testament to our ability... (more)
